Beer Cheddar Bread!

I tried a new recipe a couple of nights ago. The beer cheese bread turned out pretty tastey. I used magic hat beer; any weaker brew probably wouldn't have been as flavorful. It's a fairly dense bread, good for grilling or toasting. I added some herbs and spices to it, which the recipe didn't call for.

I'm not sure who's reading this, if anyone, but here's the recipe:

2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 12 oz. beer at room temperature
1 cup shredded cheddar
1 tsp. time
1 tbsp. basil
1 tbsp. oregano
tbsp. butter, sea salt, pepper and grated parmasian cheese for topping

Preheat oven at 450 degrees. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, beer, 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese, time, basil and oregano. Pour into greased bread pan. Bake for 35 minutes. Butter the top of the bread and sprinkle salt, pepper, remaining cheddar and parmasian cheese on top and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool before cutting.

Again, this could be used for sandwiches, grilling, toasting, croutons or whatever you want. Enjoy!

  1. Add a little more salt to the recipe and you're golden. PS your photographer is amazing and should be rewarded with more treats.
